Happy 2nd Birthday Carson!
Carson turned 2 on Feb 2nd! He's a little boy now, but still sweet as ever!
Thanks to Carson's loving grandparents and aunts & uncles, he wasn't deprived of presents....
Since he is obsessed with CARS, it was only fitting that Lightning McQueen be on his birthday cake. I never though I would watch a movie so many times, but he's yet to tire of it. At least it is a cute movie.
Enjoying every bite!
Kackie never comes to visit empty-handed, so she brought the boys matching outfits. Here, Caleb is modeling his in the 'downward dog' pose (I don't know where he learned this, but he's certainly perfected it).
Happy Birthday Carson. We pray for you daily, that you will accept Christ as your Savior one day and that you grow up to be a man after God's own heart. We love you dearly!

Caleb is already 6 months old?
Where does the time go? I can't believe Caleb is already 6 months old! It really does go by faster with the second child! He had his 6 mo checkup earlier this week and needless to say, he is quite healthy. He already weighs 19 lbs (75%) and is almost 29" in length, which was off the charts for his age. And for those of you who think he may have gotten his dad's 'Pope' head, it was actually quite 'normal' (50%)...rather surprising, I know! You're a cutie, Caleb, and we love you very much!!!

Christmas
A few days before Christmas the fam drove around and looked at Christmas lights. We took our annual picture in the big rocking chair at George Jones' place.
We attended the Christmas Eve service at our church with Matt and Katie and then all headed back to our house for dinner with my mom and dad as well. (Looking at Carson's face, one would think he was excited about opening gifts the next morning)
Christmas morning we did gifts with our little family before going to Matt & Katie's for breakfast and more gifts!

Uncle Matt and Caleb
I don't think Carson realized quite what was going on, he just knew he had a few new toys to play with.

My favorite guys:)

Christmas afternoon, Shea's dad and wife, Shea's younger sister and her husband came into town for the week-end.
On Monday morning a few left and that afternoon a few more arrived (Shea's older sister and her family). Carson loves his cousin Bryson and they have the best time playing together. Carson sporting his new construction hat sitting in his new chair.
Shea's sister Lauren and her husband Joe, his mom Kathie, and his older sister Heather and her son Bryson (Tommy or Kallie must have been taking the picture) And no, that isn't a real dog in the picture...it was a gift from Kackie...it's a mechanical dog, but it looks very real. It's probably the closest thing to a dog we'll ever have!
We really enjoyed getting to see all of our family at Christmas. But most importantly, we're so thankful for our Savior's birth!

Just a few new pictures
I realized that it's been almost 2 months since my last post (totally unacceptable!) so I thought I'd just post a few recent pics and call it a day.
Caleb started grabbing the bumpers (around 4 or 5 months) and would either pull them on top of himself (and then cry because this big puffy thing was on his face) or grab them so tight trying to pull them from the rails, it started ripping the seams, so i took them off. (ok, real reason was that there is no way to wash them and I didn't want them to get too 'dirty'). So during one of his naps, he managed to get his leg stuck in the rails (guess that's why they make bumpers to begin with!). And yes, he screamed at the top of his lungs until I got him out. The bumpers went back on.

He has been drooling for 2 months now, but no teeth to show for it yet. (And yes, that is drool dripping from his chin)

At 5 months...almost sitting up by himself...for a few seconds anyway....
He loves being in the walker so he can always be close by.

Last month, Carson began a fascination with one of my old headbands. He loves to put it on and run around the bedroom while I'm getting ready in the morning.
Then he begins dancing (at least that's what we call it) in front of the mirror
or in this case, playing the guitar

Halloween
The boys had a busy week-end of Halloween activities. Friday night we went to the Fall Festival at our church. Carson was Spiderman and Caleb was a pumpkin. Carson seemed to enjoy playing all the games and just running back and forth across the gym (doesn't take much to entertain this kid!). Caleb was content to be held all evening - something new???
Caleb as Tigger
Saturday night, we took them trick-or-treating in our neighborhood (Caleb went as Tigger that night since it was so cold outside - thanks for the costumes, Jess!).
Carson was not shy about knocking on neighbors' doors. In fact, he was trying to go into everyone's house. I'm not sure if anyone could understand his version of 'Trick-or-Treat', but I knew what he was trying to say.

At the end of the night, Carson became 'studious Spiderman'
Unfortunately I was unable to get a picture of the two of them together - Carson is not interested in sharing the spotlight with his little brother right now. Maybe next year!

Fall Fun
We took Carson and Caleb to Ring Farm for a Saturday morning of fall festivities. The weather was brisk, to say the least. Not the best day for walking around outside! But we had to continue with the family tradition of a trip to the pumpkin patch and there weren't many week-ends left to go.
Just trying to stay warm in here!

Visiting Papa and Nana
We just returned from a visit to Hernando, MS to visit Papa and Nana this past week-end. The weather couldn't have been better so we took advantage of it and went to the Memphis Zoo on Saturday.

Here's Papa and Nana with Carson.

Carson looks like he really knows how to drive that rocket ship - one hand on the wheel and the other just resting on the side...wonder where he learned that...

And where was Caleb this whole time, you ask? Sleeping in the stroller!
Thanks for a fun week-end!!
